When I got married, I had three priorities:
1. quality photographer 2. amazing food 3. makeup artist
I checked the first two off the list fairly quickly but number 3 could be a challenge. After some thorough research, I was finding it difficult to find a makeup artist who wouldn't kill my wedding budget or someone who actually showed their full abilities on a face. Evenutally, I went to Facebook and asked for recommendations. My friend, Natalee (thanks, girl!) recommended a girl she had never personally used but adored her work. Her work is flawless. She's that Instagrammer that you think could be a fake because she's so gorgeous and so GOOD. I messaged her and it's all history from there.
As a bride, I was so worried about what I would look like on my wedding day. You have this vision in your head about what you *think* you look like but you hardly every look that way in photos. Karen took my inner view of myself and made it a reality. I have never felt more flawless in my life. I owe it to my gorgeous, hilarious and wonderful makeup artist / friend. Yes, I said "my" because I will use her skills on my face for every big event in my life from here on out.
When Karen learned that I was a photographer, in Karen-like fashion said, "You're going to photograph my wedding someday." This May, we're going to make that dream a plan.
She invited me to her bridal shower a couple of weekends ago and I photographed all the rose-gold goodness a girl could dream of. Seriously - Karen is like make-up / planning / detail goddess. Take a look!
